Dear Calgary Vietnamese School Parent Community,
In these challenging and changing times, I extend to you my warm greetings and deep gratitude. -Our school’s primary objective has always been to provide an excellent educational environment that fosters the growth of our students and nurtures our cultural heritage. In pursuit of this mission, we are embarking on several new initiatives to enhance our student education experience, which I am excited to share with you today.
As you are aware, our school faced significant challenges during the COVID-19 lockdown, including a budget deficit of approximately $40,000. To overcome this, we must, unfortunately, increase the tuition fee by approximately $2 per week per student. We fully understand the potential financial implications this may bring to your family, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this difficult decision.
Let me assure you that every additional dollar is being channeled to reinforce our commitment to providing high-quality education. Here is a rough estimate of how these funds will be distributed:
- 50% will go towards increasing teacher wages to ensure we continue to attract and retain high-quality teaching staff.
- 35% will be invested in improving online resources and creating opportunities for advanced learning.
- 15% will be used to support collaboration with the Calgary Board of Education to obtain high school credits for all our students.
Our commitment to accessibility remains steadfast. For families with multiple students, the first student is $250, the second student is $215, and the third student is free. We continue to offer free tuition for students experiencing financial difficulty because we firmly believe that every child deserves a quality education, irrespective of their financial circumstances.
We also want to share that we are exploring various fundraising initiatives to supplement the tuition fees and keep them as reasonable as possible. One such initiative is Casino Volunteer opportunities. We kindly invite all parents to consider supporting this endeavor, either by volunteering your time or through direct donations. Additionally, we need volunteers to assist in various school operations and events. Your participation can make a significant difference and is highly appreciated.
We understand that you may have questions or concerns about these changes. Therefore, we invite you to contact.
